GMAU Fencing - Purdue Spring Open Épée Tournament

On January 31, GMAU Fencing Academy students Alexander Ganahl, Andrew Semler, and Drew Myers competed in the Purdue Spring Open épée tournament, with all three fencers advancing into the second round of Direct Eliminations. Out of the field of 37, Ganahl placed 17th, Myers placed 29th, and Semler placed 30th. Over the past month, the Fencing Academy has greatly benefited from a Development Grant awarded by the United States Fencing Association. The grant money was used to purchase electric fencing equipment, which enabled our fencers to prepare for and compete in the tournament. GMAU Fencing Academy looks forward to sending more students to USFA tournaments over the next several months, building a presence and Christian witness in the local fencing community.
